It's About Time

Updated: Aug 27, 2019

IT’S ABOUT TIME?!

Techs are always asking how long should it take to do a full set of nails.  Yes,  we should work towards getting our services down to a good speed, time is money of coarse, but I believe in quality over quantity. It's far more important to put out a beautifully structured, strong, long lasting,  dazzling set of nails than to have your client out the door in an hour. Clients don't want to feel like a number. Do your best work and the speed will come over time.

Here are a few things I can suggest-

TALK TO THE HANDS!

To many Nail Techs stop what they are doing while having chit chat with their clients. Keep your head down and keep working while you talk.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR STEPS.

Are you repeating unnecessary steps over and over? Are you stumbling to find tools and products?

Set a timer and time how long each step is taking you- prep, application etc. This forces you to take a look at those steps, evaluate what can be done different, and to execute new habits to become faster.

STAY ORGANIZED.

Have all supplies and implements ready before your client sits down. During prep start asking clients what they are hoping for their nails today. What colors they are feeling? What designs are they wanting? That way you can begin to create an idea in your mind.

You can also ask clients to text you a picture or idea ahead of time, that way you are prepared with the necessary products you will need to create the design.

DON'T ANSWER PHONE CALLS AND TEXTS during an appointment, they are paying you for your time! Their time with you is important to them!

Always rebook your client before they leave, this will cut down on unnecessary interruptions during the day from other clients. Train your clients that you will not be answering their phone calls while you are working on other clients. They will Leave a message if it is important.

BE PREPARED.

Have enough efile bits, nail brushes, and

nippers to get through all your clients in a day, that way you won't need to take time to clean, sanitize, and disinfect between each client.

RELAX! BREATHE!

Stay calm and enjoy your job. When you are stressed or anxious you attract negative energy and EVERYTHING seems to go wrong.

NOW GO SLAY YOUR DAY!
